Detektive Show X<\/strong> is an open-air exhibition where visitors can discover art in public space across two adjacent parks in Aachen \u2013 or Aix-la-Chapelle<\/em>, as the city is called in French \u2013 by following clues.
\nA digital and printed map will list location hints<\/strong>, numbers<\/strong>, and artist names<\/strong> (but no photos) to create a self-guided route to the works on site.
\nThe exhibition combines existing and new urban art, temporary and permanent works, spontaneous and planned interventions \u2013 offering a fresh perspective on the urban space.<\/p>\n

The inspiration for Detektive Show X<\/strong> comes from a legendary event: in 1978, US artist John Fekner<\/strong> organized the \u201cDetective Show\u201d in Gorman Park, Queens, New York.
\nAround 30 artists had created works on site in advance, which visitors could find using a list of artist names, numbers, and locations.
\nBut Aachen also has its own tradition: as early as 1973, the city hosted its first open-air exhibition \u2013 proof that some ideas never grow old.<\/p>\n
